About CalcShala
CalcShala is a free collection of online calculators for students, job seekers and government employees. Every calculator shows the formula behind the answer and a worked example, so you can check the result yourself instead of trusting a number you do not understand.
What the name means
“Shala” is the Hindi word for school. We wanted CalcShala to be a place where you calculate and also understand how the number was reached. That is why each tool comes with the formula, the steps and an example, not just an answer box.
Why we built it
A simple question like “how many classes can I miss?” or “what is my CGPA?” should not need ten open tabs, a spreadsheet or a page full of pop-ups. Many calculator pages also give a result with no explanation, which makes it hard to know whether to trust it. We built CalcShala to be quick to use, clear about its method, and honest about where rules differ from one institution or employer to another.
What you can calculate here
Education & exams
Salary & government employees
Career, dates & money
You can see all of them together, with the formulas, on the CalcShala homepage.
How we keep the calculators accurate
- The method is on the page. Each calculator is built on a standard formula that we explain with steps and a worked example, so you can verify any result by hand.
- We flag rules that vary. Grade scales, attendance limits, rounding and leave rules differ between universities and employers. Where that happens we say so instead of pretending one rule fits everyone.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates. Figures such as the 8th Pay Commission salary depend on decisions the government has not finalised. They are scenarios to help you plan, not official calculations.
- Mistakes get fixed. If you find an error, write to us. We review every report and correct the calculator or the explanation.
For anything official, such as admissions, payroll, tax filing or results, always confirm the final figure with your university, employer or the relevant authority. CalcShala is for understanding and planning.
Who runs CalcShala
CalcShala is built and maintained by a small team based in Ajmer, Rajasthan. We write the formulas, build the tools, and test them against worked examples. New calculators are added based on what students and professionals ask us for.
How CalcShala earns money
CalcShala is free to use. The site is supported by advertising shown on its pages. Ads never change or influence calculator results. You can read how cookies and advertising work in our Privacy Policy.
Your privacy
You do not need to sign up or log in. Calculations run in your browser, and the numbers you type into a calculator are not saved on our servers.
